Below is our overall list for Dossier Preparation.  We have to send in copies of everything to our Family coordinator for approval before having notarized.  We have done this with almost everything we can so far.  We will have to wait on the Home Study Agency to get much more moving forward.  As you can tell we'll be taking one big "Notarization" day.  Probably going to finish our Financial Statement after the sale of our house and then make a notarization trip. The things in orange have at least 1 more step to finish for each - most being the notarization/final approval steps.  We are pleased with our progress so far.

* September 4th, 2010 - Dossier made it to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - 
   we wait for referral - average from 4 - 11 month wait
* August 27th, 2010 - DTE Date (dte: dossier to ethiopia) 
* August 23rd, 2010 - Dossier arrived to AWAA for review
* August 20th, 2010 - mailed Dossier to America World Adoption Agency
* August 18th, 2010 - received I171-H in the mail
* July 26th, 2010 - Certification for Dossier Cover Sheet & Power of 
   Attorney completed and pd for at Secretary of States office in 
   Lincoln, NE - 
July 23rd, 2010 - Biometrics complete - we were able to get in 
   ahead of our scheduled appointment time
* July 21st, 2010 - Received Appointment Notices in the mail  -   
   biometrics scheduled for August 13th, 2010
* July 16th, 2010 - Biometrics appointments made and Appointment 
   Notice sent out to us
* July 13th, 2010 - USCIS in Lees Summit received our Home Study
* July 12th, 2010 - Home Study Fedex-ed to USCIS for approval to 
   bring Nora into the US - 
* July 12th, 2010 - Home Study FINALIZED!!!  Huge step complete!!  :)
* July 1st, 2010 - Home Study Rough Draft sent to Family Coordinator   @ America World Adoption Agency
* June 14th, 2010 - Home Study Visit - Family in our Home - 
* June 10th, 2010 - Home Study Visit - Both
* June 3rd, 2010 - Home Study Visit - John
* May 27th, 2010 - Home Study Visit - Christina
May 25th, 2010 - Home Study Visit - BOTH OF US
* May 5th, 2010 - Had several pages of our paperwork Notarized 
   for Dossier; waiting on Home Study Agency to receive final
   reference letter, police report, national registry information
   she should have it by now and is supposed to be calling to 
   check --do you see how much time is taken up just waiting! :)

* April 9th, 2010 - Picked up Physicians Forms & turned in Home 
   Study Application
* April 7th, 2010 - Physicians Visits for us both w/ lab work & tb 
   skin test - John's Passport Photos Taken - 
* April 6th, 2010 - Mailed out State Fingerprinting Info for Home 
   Study/Dossier; I-600a application
   arrived to it's destination (not that they'll take off on that
   immediately or anything :) ), but it's there - Christina Passport 
   Photos taken
* April 5th, 2010 - Mailed out I-600A to USCIS
received approval on several documents for Dossier

April 2nd, 2010 - State Fingerprinting at our local State Patrol 
  Office;contacted people on our reference list to let them know 
  they will be getting contacted soon.
* April 1st, 2010 - Received our Application for our Home Study 
  Agency - Nebraska Christian Services
* March 31st, 2010 - Assigned our Family Coordinator & 
  Received Dossier Specifics - moving forward in the paper work
  process
* March 30th, 2010 - Completed Hague Convention Certification
  • * March 29th, 2010 - Contacted by Home Study Agency to start Application process for them
  • * March 26th, 2010 - Confirmation our paperwork/fee arrived & Family Coordinator will be assigned this week
  • * March 25th , 2010 - registered for Hague Convention Videos
  • * March 25, 2010 - Signed/Mailed First Set of Paperwork & sent initial program fee
  • * March 24, 2010 - WE ARE APPROVED
  • * March 15, 2010 - Ordered Copies of Birth Certificates & Marriage License 
  • * March 14, 2010 - Submitted Online Application with America World Adoption Agency
  • * March 13, 2010 - Confirmed we would adopt from Ethiopia & Skyped our Parents to let them know
  • * March 9, 2010 - Confirmed Decision to Adopt
